Tretinoin also known as all-trans retinoic acid is used to treat acne and stretch marks and can be applied directly to the skin.

2. How does topical Tretinoin treat acne and stretch marks?

Tretinoin binds to specific skin receptors that reduces the cohesiveness of keratinocytes which reduces hair follicular occlusion. This leads to fewer blackheads and whiteheads. It also increases the growth of epithelial cells which limits blackhead growth. It also reduces inflammation.
